The combatant’s retirement concerns holders of the combatant’s card, under certain conditions. It is used by the ministry in charge of veterans to show them recognition, following their engagement in combat. It is granted from the age of 65, but it can be paid, in special cases, from the age of 60. Explanations.
To obtain the combatant’s pension from the age of 65, you must have the combatant’s card. It is essential to submit your request in the month preceding your 65th birthday. You have the obligation to provide documents such as the Cerfa form n°10860, as well as several supporting documents to constitute your file. It is necessary to send your request to the ONACVG service, which issued your combat card. From the age of 60, you can take the same steps, but for this you must receive the solidarity allowance for the elderly (Aspa), a military disability pension or be domiciled in an overseas department .
The combatant’s pension is paid to his beneficiary every six months, until his death. It can be combined with other professional pensions, but remains non-transferable. It also cannot be seized and is not taxable, nor taken into account in the calculation of resources when applying for social assistance. Its amount is fixed at 810.68 euros per year. Upon the death of the beneficiary combatant, it is not possible, like the survivor’s pension, to transmit it to the surviving spouse.
