The Montreal team of the new Professional Women’s Hockey League (LPHF) will have two homes.

One month before the official launch of the inaugural season, the league has finally released its full schedule. We learn that Montreal will play 4 of its 11 local matches at Place Bell in Laval. The others will take place at the Verdun Auditorium.

Each team actually has 12 home games on its schedule; the 12th for the Montreal franchise, scheduled for March 16 against Toronto, must however be held in a location “to be determined”. Since the LPHF has more than once expressed the wish to hold games in “neutral” territory, this match could take place virtually anywhere, even if Montreal will be considered the host team.

At home, the majority of matches will take place on Saturday (6) or Sunday (3).

The very first local clash will take place in Verdun on Saturday, January 13, against Boston. The team will then have already played three times on the road, on January 2, 6 and 10.

In total, Montreal will face New York, Toronto, Minnesota and Ottawa five times, and Boston four times.

The metropolitan team will also play in two NHL amphitheaters, namely at the XCel Energy Center in St. Paul, where the Minnesota club will be permanently established, and at the UBS Arena on Long Island, while the team of New York will borrow the Islanders’ home base on Long Island.
