Among all the new albums released recently, here are a few that caught our attention.

The ninth album from the trio of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker, One More Time was recorded while the old friends reunited on an extensive tour that marked Hoppus’ return from his battle with cancer . The 17-song album addresses this difficult ordeal, but the amusing immaturity of the Californians remains very present.

As the title suggests, this album is a family affair. The work is entirely written and composed by Russell Clepper, father of the Quebec singer, who passed on his love of music to her. Guitarist Joe Grass produced the 11-piece opus which includes a French-language title, La valse à Gaétan. Emilie Clepper will begin a Quebec tour in the Old Capital on November 3.

Author, composer, performer and harpist, Emilie Kahn returned to the country after a disappointing stay in Los Angeles. The family home in the Ontario countryside allowed the Montrealer to refocus and reconnect with her friend Jean-Philippe Levac with whom she co-directed Maybe. The sounds of the 14-song album may bring to mind Lana Del Rey or Arlo Parks, but Emilie Kahn is undoubtedly a singular artist. She will perform in Quebec on November 16 and then in Montreal on November 29 and 30.

The prolific Atlanta rapper, who frequently collaborates with Quebecers Nicholas Craven and Mike Shabb, has this time entrusted the soundtrack of his new album to producer Camoflauge Monk. The latter, an associate of the Griselda label, delivers 10 beats imbued with soothing jazz that suit Fahim’s muffled voice perfectly.
