(Toronto) Netflix has begun an experiment allowing select Canadians to play its games on their TVs and computers.

A blog post from the streaming giant’s vice president of games says testing for a small number of Canadian users began Monday with a TV launch and will include access for computers in the coming weeks.

Mike Verdu says the trial is also available in the UK and aims to test game streaming technology on Netflix and improve the experience for gamers.

The test includes two games: the adventure game Oxenfree and the arcade gem mining game Molehew’s Mining Adventure.

Users accessing games on their TV will use their phone as a controller, while gamers on their computer can navigate with their keyboard and mouse.

The test comes two years after Netflix launched the mobile game in 2021, but Verdu says the company is still early in its gaming journey.
