At a time when many Quebec families are reconnecting with the characters of Asterix and Obélix thanks to the programming of Ciné-Cadeau, on Télé-Québec, more details have been revealed about the new animated series which will featured the famous Gauls.
First announced in March 2021, the series directed by Alain Chabat will be broadcast on Netflix from 2025, Les Éditions Albert René recently indicated.
Currently in production in TAT studios in Toulouse, the series is an adaptation of the album Le combat des chefs, created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo in 1966.
In this Asterix adventure, the druid Panoramix loses his mind and forgets the formula for his magic potion after receiving a blow to the head from a menhir.
This is not the first time that Alain Chabat has made an incursion into the world of the diehard Gauls. In 2002, he directed the film Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, in addition to writing the screenplay and playing Julius Caesar.
