Production at a standstill, blocking of shipments… Many refineries are currently immobilized in protest against the pension reform carried out by the government. As of Sunday April 2, 2023, 10.1% of service stations in France did not have either gasoline or diesel according to figures from Fig Data. Note that service stations that offer SP95, SP98 or E10 are not counted as being out of gas. “In all, 29 departments identify at least 10% of stations in total or partial rupture on their territory”, specify our colleagues from Figaro.

For the past few days, Île-de-France has been the region most affected by the fuel shortage with 35% of service stations in difficulty. In our slideshow below, you will find the list of French departments with the most fuel pumps with total or partial fuel shortage*.

Two Norman refineries, among the largest in the country, have stopped all production, namely that of Esso-ExxonMobil in Port-Jérôme-Gravenchon (Seine-Maritime) and the TotalEnergies site in Gonfreville-L’Orcher (Seine-Maritime ). “The first renewed its movement on Wednesday until the next national day of mobilization on April 6, but the unions have agreed to release a ‘small volume’ of fuel”, indicates the national daily.
