James Reimer made 23 saves in his first start for Detroit on Monday, helping the Red Wings to a 4-0 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Michael Rasmussen, Dylan Larkin and Andrew Copp scored in less than five minutes in the second period.

Larkin and Copp hit the target with rivals in the dungeon.

Shayne Gostisbehere hit the mark in the first period. Copp was frustrated on a penalty shot in the final period.

Signed as a free agent during the summer, Reimer posted his 29th career shutout.

Spencer Martin stopped 24 shots in a losing cause. Rasmussen’s net accomplice, J. T. Compher collected a third assist in three games.

The Red Wings will host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday, who have won their last two games.

The Blue Jackets will host the Calgary Flames on Friday.

Corey Perry scored the decisive goal to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday.

MacKenzie Entwistle, Tyler Johnson and Taylor Raddysh, in an empty net, scored the other goals for the Blackhawks.

Andreas Athanasiou had two assists and Arvid Soderblom stopped 36 pucks.

“It was a fun match to play,” Soderblom said. We played well as a team. I had to make two big stops at the end, but generally the guys made it easy for me. »

“We stayed true to our style,” Entwistle added. Several guys blocked shots and Arvid was great. »

First pick Connor Bedard, for whom expectations were enormous, was once again playing in a market with a rich hockey history.

Johnson, who scored two goals on Saturday against the Canadiens in the Hawks’ 3-2 loss, then doubled the lead on the power play.

Toronto got a power play with eight minutes left in the third period, but Soderblom robbed Tavares twice in front of the net. Raddysh then took advantage of the empty net to add a fourth goal.

Three minutes into the second period, the Blackhawks made it 1-0 when Entwistle beat Woll, who had just made a good save against Athanasiou.

Tavares scored with a shot into the top of the net 1:45 later.

Sam Reinhart scored twice and the Florida Panthers beat the New Jersey Devils 4-3 on Monday.

Carter Verhaeghe and Niko Mikkola were the other scorers for the winners. Matthew Tkachuk provided two assists for Florida, whose season began with losses to St. Paul and Winnipeg.

Sergei Bobrovsky was beaten by Erik Haula, Michael McLeod and Jesper Bratt in the third period. The 35-year-old goalkeeper ultimately made 33 saves.

Vitek Vanecek stopped 25 shots for the Devils. He left his post for one more attacker at 15:46 in the third period, but the score remained unchanged.

With 1,769 games as coach in the NHL, Paul Maurice of the Panthers has passed Joel Quenneville for third place in history in this regard.

The Panthers will face the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday at Sunrise.

Darcy Kuemper made 38 saves in 65 minutes and three more in the shootout Monday, helping the Washington Capitals to a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames.

Evgeny Kuznetsov was the only scorer in the shootout.

The Capitals closed a 2-0 deficit in the middle period, thanks to goals from Matthew Phillips and Connor McMichael.

It was a first goal in the National League for Phillips, a sixth-round pick of the Flames in 2016. He scored from the slot, following a pass from Sonny Milano.

Spencer Carbery earned his first win at the helm of an NHL club.

The Capitals will visit the Senators on Wednesday and the Canadiens on Saturday.

Calgary outshot 40-23, including an 18-3 advantage in the first period. The Flames got the first 13 shots of the game.

Adam Ruzicka and Dillon Dube were their scorers, while Jacob Markstrom made 21 saves.

Vincent Trocheck scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period and the New York Rangers beat the Arizona Coyotes 2-1 on Monday.

Igor Shesterkin blocked a penalty shot from Jason Zucker with less than five minutes remaining in the third period.

Chris Kreider scored the other goal for the Rangers, who won two of their first three games.

Trocheck deflected the puck at 8:26 on the power play to make it 2-1. Adam Fox and Artemi Panarin collected the assists on Trocheck’s first goal of the season.

Kreider, who leads the Rangers with five points, scored 14:11 into the first period.

It was a fourth goal in three games for the attacker. Mika Zibanejad and Kappo Kakko assisted on the goal.

Shesterkin made 26 saves, beaten only by Clayton Keller.

The Coyotes had a five-on-three power play for two minutes, as Alexis Lafrenière and Ryan Lindgren were punished at 18:41 in the second period. Arizona, however, failed to take advantage.

The Coyotes wanted to start their season with two wins for the first time since 2015-16.

Connor Ingram stopped 26 pucks.

The Rangers have collected at least one point in 16 of their last 17 games against the Coyotes.

Keller made it 1-1 on the power play in the second period, thanks to assists from Nick Schmaltz and Logan Cooley.

In two games, rookie Cooley already has three assists.
