A media couple that cultivates discretion. Flagship face of the PAF, journalist and ex-host Melissa Theuriau has shared the life of Jamel Debbouze for 15 years. A story that began in 2007, in Spain, when the two stars were each on a business trip.
“I was doing a subject for Zone Interdite,” said the former presenter of M6 in the pages of Parisien Week-end while the comedian and actor was filming for the film Asterix at the Olympic Games. “I had been asked not to approach him, but he was spying on me behind a newspaper he was holding upside down. The discussion began, I only heard intelligence”, a- she added, according to remarks relayed in particular by Paris Match.
A mischievous and complicit exchange that Melissa Theuriau continued by even taking the first step towards Jamel Debbouze. “It was I who sought to join him … simply to continue our exchanges. At the time, we were both a couple,” she assures our colleagues. It was after leaving their respective partners that the journalist and the actor formalized their relationship in the media.
In May 2008, Melissa Theuriau and Jamel Debbouze got married surrounded by their families and close friends. As La Dépêche indicates, it was at the abbey of Vaux-de-Cernay in the Yvelines that the festivities took place. Among the announced guests, stars like Joey Starr, Cauet, Luc Besson, Diams or even Zinedine Zidane and Valérie Damidot.
In December of the same year, the Franco-Moroccan couple welcomed their son named Léon. Before the arrival of their daughter Lila in September 2011. A sibling that the journalist and the founder of the Jamel Comedy Club very rarely expose in the media.
As her husband prepares to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Marrakech du rire (this July 19 on M6, editor’s note), the latter returned to the touching declaration of his wife for his birthday last June. “The truth, I am still deeply touched by her statements, because she is stingy with compliments, despite everything. It’s been 15 years that I have had the chance to be wonderfully accompanied by her”, confided Jamel Debbouze to our colleagues from Télé-Loisirs adding. “He’s an alter ego, someone who understands me perfectly, who is in tune with me and I try to return it to him as much as I can by loving him with all my might”.
