Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney accepted a contract offer from the Baltimore Ravens on Friday.

This is another last-minute addition for the Ravens, who are hit with a wave of injuries in the secondary and also need reinforcements on the defensive line. Clowney will therefore help on the defensive line, having had 43 sacks in nine NFL seasons since being selected first in the draft in 2014.

Clowney had a total of 11 sacks in the past two seasons with the Cleveland Browns.

The Ravens cut ties with veterans Calais Campbell and Justin Houston during the offseason. Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo have the potential to pick up the slack at quarterbacks, but they don’t have Clowney’s experience.

On Thursday, the Ravens acquired cornerback Ronald Darby to help a group that will be without star Marlon Humphrey for some time with a foot injury.
