Didn’t have time to go to space this fall? You can pull yourself together: the exhibition-experience L’infini is extended until the beginning of next year.

Its extension is announced until January 7. It will give time to all those who watched this experience from afar, even from above, believing that it is an attraction reserved for tourists. Its location, the Old Port of Montreal, does nothing to dispel the misconception. Nor is its price, moreover, because at more than $40 per ticket for adults, $30 per child (8 years and over), a family outing is expensive.
But for going into space, it’s a godsend.
Because that’s what it is: a journey, far from everyday life.
This intrusion into the International Space Station is quite spectacular. Anyone who has a weakness for aerospace technology, or technology in short, will feel dizzy when they find themselves in the middle of the station, with the astronauts, the real ones, including our very own David Saint-Jacques. They tell us segments of their sidereal life, with generosity and simplicity.
That’s already a lot of emotion, but it’s nothing compared to what awaits the visitor when they leave the station and find themselves in space. In a vacuum, with the Earth below, as astronauts see it.

Personally, I would have liked to stay there for an hour watching the world, but that is unfortunately impossible, because we have to (too) quickly move on to the next stage, to end the adventure with the viewing of a film (around 10 minutes) which, fortunately, also takes place in space, 360 degree version since we are always wearing our helmet. This allows the visitor to look at the point of view that interests them the most, the Station or space. In total, the visit will have lasted about an hour.
Good to know: the device and the whole experience are simple. We could very well take someone there who has never had an augmented reality experience and they would be very comfortable there.
The exhibition is therefore extended until after the holidays. It is perfect for a family outing, but not only because everyone makes their own trip there, in their own bubble. If you hadn’t even thought about going there believing the tourist attraction, you should definitely treat yourself to this walk among the stars.
