The organization, which updated its data this Thursday, August 4 at 6 a.m., has indeed placed 26 departments on orange vigilance for the risk of a heat wave. It is necessary, recalls France Info on its site, to expect a production of electricity in slow motion. And for good reason ! The reactors of some nuclear power plants cannot run at full capacity due to the high temperatures of the rivers that normally serve to cool them. In some cases, as may be in Tricastin (Drôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes), it will even have to be stopped altogether.
