Éric Chacour’s novel What I Know About You was not selected among the five finalists for the Femina Prize, which unveiled its list on Tuesday.

We will know this Thursday if he is among the finalists for the Renaudot prize.

The authors Neige Sinno and Pierric Bailly are still among the finalists for the Femina prize, respectively for their novel Triste Tigre and La Foudre, both published by P. O. L.

What I Know About You is the first novel by Éric Chacour, born in Montreal to Egyptian parents. It tells the story of Tarek, a doctor in Cairo in the 1980s who was forced into exile. It was published in Quebec in January, by Alto, and in August by the publisher Philippe Rey, in France, where it won the Première Plume prize which aims to highlight emerging authors.

The winners of the three categories of the Femina Prize will be revealed on November 6.
