This classic of French theater and cinema lands on the boards in its Quebec version. The SOS Friendship office remains, however, the place of all the absurdities for the volunteers Pierre and Thérèse, caught between the Bulgarian neighbor (and his klug), the transvestite in the midst of an existential crisis and the repeated calls of an obsessed person. The high-calibre cast brings together Jean-Michel Anctil, Josée Deschênes, Mario Jean, Brigitte Lafleur, Pierre-François Legendre and Claude Prégent. André Robitaille directs. At the Maison des arts Desjardins in Drummondville, from June 30 to August 19.

A chef who has become a media star who multiplies recipe books and who cooks with cauldrons bearing his name. Does that remind you of something ? One thing is certain, he is the character at the heart of the new play by Pierre Huet and Louis Saia (who is also directing). This satire is planted in the recording studio of the show La cuisine de Yannicko, where the sharp knives fly low! Bobby Beshro, Sylvie Moreau, Claude Tremblay, France Parent, Émile Dufour and Joanie Guérin will share the stage. At the Théâtre du Vieux-Terrebonne, from June 28 to August 5.

The inimitable François Pignon, central character of Le Dîner de cons, is back! This time, it’s raging in the room The Closet. Discreet accountant about to be fired, François Pignon decides – to turn the wind in his favor – to spread the false rumor of his homosexuality. And the scheme works! Around Sébastien Dodge, who plays Pignon, are gathered six other actors, including Raymond Bouchard and Hugo Giroux. The staging is by Alain Zouvi. At the Théâtre de Rougemont from June 29 to August 5 and at the Le Patriote theater in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts from August 9 to 19.

Simon Boudreault revives his earthy characters imagined for the play In the event of rain, no refund, presented in 2015. A very special new boss has just been appointed at the Kingdom of Super Fun amusement park, which will provoke a series shenanigans among employees who are determined to get rid of them. Luc Bourgeois, Louise Cardinal, Sébastien Gauthier, Mélanie St-Laurent and three other performers are part of the cast. At the Petit Théâtre du Nord, in Boisbriand, from June 22 to August 26.

What does a film shoot look like that goes sour? To find out, head to the Gilles-Vigneault Theater in Saint-Jérôme, where the comedy Silence on tourne, signed by the French Patrick Haudecœur and Gérald Sibleyras, will be presented. The interactive show – the spectators act as extras during the filming – is adapted in Quebec version by Emmanuel Reichenbach and directed by Charles Dauphinais. Nine performers, including Claudine Mercier, Catherine Proulx-Lemay and Roger Léger, will share the stage. From June 23 to August 12.

Building on their success during creation, certain pieces are back this summer. This is the case of Mama, presented at Duceppe from July 14 to 29 as part of Just for Laughs. In this very touching work, 12 women of Arab origin watch over the patriarch of the family, sharing confidences, but also laughter. The Cons Dinner is back in force with a summer tour that will pass through L’Assomption, Quebec, Saguenay, Gatineau and Brossard. The play Pédalo, huis clos sur l’eau starring Stéphane E. Roy and Marc Fournier, will stop in five rooms across Quebec, including Rougemont.
