To amend the Olympic Charter, the draft would have to be submitted more than 30 days before an IOC session, while submitting it to its Executive Commission. With the next session scheduled just before the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, the subject promises to liven up the coming months.
But Thomas Bach limited himself to explaining the “two main motivations” of the supporters of its extension, ensuring that he had heard “rumors” about their intentions while having been surprised by these speeches in the middle of the session.
