(Charlotte) Charlotte FC fired head coach Christian Lattanzio on Wednesday, despite the team making the Major League Soccer playoffs for the first time in its history.

The team also thanked assistant coach Andy Quy.

“We would like to thank Christian and Andy for their time with the team,” owner David Tepper said in a statement Wednesday. They have gotten us through the last 18 months, and we appreciate everything they have done for Charlotte FC. »

The team will begin a hiring process immediately.

This will be Charlotte FC’s third head coach since the team began MLS operations in 2022.

Charlotte FC finished the season with a 10-11-13 record, before losing 5-2 in the first playoff round to the New York Red Bulls.
