(Las Vegas) Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies scored as Canada qualified for the CONCACAF final with a 2-0 win on Thursday against Panama.

Canada is chasing its first CONCACAF championship since 2000.

Ranked 47th in the world, Canada will play against the United States, 13th, or Mexico, 15th, in the final on Sunday. At stake will be the title, but also a millionUS.

David gave Canada the lead in the 25th minute with a perfect pass from Kamal Miller. David saw an opening in the Panama defense and indicated to Miller where he wanted to receive the pass.

Minutes after entering the game, Davies made it 2-0 in the 69th minute. It was Davies’ 14th goal in 40 games for Canada.

It was the first goals conceded by Panama during these championships.

Canada came into the game with only two games played since the World Cup.

Canada is 5-2-6 against Panama, who won their last game 1-0.

It was March 2022, when Canada last qualified for the World Cup.
