The City of Montreal will announce this Tuesday a call for applications for five of its existing cultural programs, which will receive additional funding of 2.4 million, La Presse has learned.

Projects submitted to the City must focus on the promotion of heritage, amateur artistic practice, cultural mediation, collaborative initiatives in digital creativity or even mural art. They must be carried out in 2024 and 2025 in one or other of the boroughs of Montreal.

“This call for projects will stimulate vitality in neighborhoods by making arts and culture more accessible to citizens,” wrote the head of culture and heritage on the executive committee, Éricka Alneus, in a press release.

The envelope of 2.4 million comes from an agreement between the government of Quebec and the City of Montreal on cultural development.
