Bison Futé is planning a tough Easter weekend on the roads this year. The traditional Easter weekend is often synonymous with complicated days on the road. Let’s take stock of the difficulties in predicting these next three days in the direction of departures and in the direction of returns.

In the sense of returns, the lights are green since very few people are coming back to date. Bison Futé therefore provides green in the direction of returns. When it comes to departures, that’s a whole other story. The capital sees red since, as often, it is the main axis taken by many motorists. The outskirts of Paris are also affected by these traffic difficulties. Bison Futé advises leaving Ile-de-France and major cities before 10 a.m., avoiding the main roads between Normandy, Brittany and Pays de la Loire between 5 and 7 p.m.

Otherwise, other routes should be avoided, such as the A7 (between Lyon and Orange) which is often very crowded, especially on public holidays. It is therefore preferable to avoid this axis between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. just like its neighbor the A6 between the outskirts of Lyon and Beaune from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The A43 motorway (between Chambéry and Lyon) is also invited to be bypassed between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Saturday, April 8, 2023 is classified as orange at the national level. The city of light is to be avoided after 5 p.m., especially the axis between Paris and Caen. The far west is the most affected region: between Saintes and Bordeaux, the A10 will be subject to traffic jams, as will the A63 between Bordeaux and Bayonne. The road between Lyon and Orange will also experience traffic jams. Finally, this Saturday expect traffic jams on the A61 between Toulouse and Narbonne. All these indications given by Bison Futé are to be expected throughout the day.

This Sunday, April 9, 2023 will mark a break in traffic jams since Bison Futé does not foresee any particular difficulty, as reported by the Huffington Post.

Finally, on Monday, April 10, Bison Futé is predicting a dark day in the direction of returns, so be prepared for traffic jams. The northwestern part of the country will be affected by these traffic jams on various roads.

What will be the most disrupted regions for this Easter weekend?
