The Honda, Hyundai and Kia brands have recently launched various recall campaigns to correct defects that could affect the safety of certain models.

At Honda and Acura, there are 52,196 copies of Acura RDX (2019-2020), Honda Accord (2018-2029), Honda CR-V (2017-2020), Honda Insight (2019) and Honda Odyssey (2018-2020) which will require a seat belt inspection. According to the Transport Canada listing, “The buckles for the driver and front passenger seat belts may wear out over time and not latch properly.” This can cause the seat belts to come loose in the event of a collision.

On the Hyundai side, the recall affects many models produced from 2011 to 2016 for a corrosion problem affecting the brake fluid lines. A leak can obviously cause a loss of braking power and, as a result, an accident. As many as 295,577 vehicles will have to stop at a dealership, according to Transport Canada, for an inspection. Technicians will assess the condition of the lines and may apply rust remover to them or replace them free of charge.

Finally, 2593 Kia K5 from model years 2021 to 2023 may be affected by a problem with the assembly of their side airbags, which would prevent them from deploying correctly during an accident. Dealers will inspect them and may reinstall them properly if necessary.
