Before meeting Thierry Ardisson, journalist Audrey Crespo-Mara had two children Lamine and Sekou, born from a previous relationship. “They are generous, affectionate, intelligent, lively. I am very lucky to have these two boys,” she confided to Gala.
How did Thierry Ardisson and Audrey Crespo-Mara meet? It was the host who fell in love with his future companion when he turned on the television: “’I had an apartment in Paris (…) where I had paintings by Jean-Gabriel Domergue who painted, in the 1950s, cocottes with long, slightly haughty necks. And one day I turn on my TV and I see Audrey with a head carriage similar to a Domergue”, he confided to the microphone of Europe 1. After which, the host did everything to have his number in pretending to want to “produce it” on television.
A meeting that Audrey Crespo-Mara was waiting for with apprehension: “I was going a little backwards. I had the image of someone who was brilliant, certainly, but brittle and cold. I discovered a man of rare elegance and benevolence. At one point he said to me: ‘I know that I will have a third wife…’ And I, instantly, I knew that I would be that woman. It was obvious”, she confided to our colleagues from Gala.
Both married when they met, they finally decided to “take a break” on their own, explained the host on the program Quelle époque! on France 2. A break that finally turned into a separation for the two stars, allowing them to fully experience their love in broad daylight.
Obviously for the two stars who could no longer do without each other: “At the beginning, we said to ourselves that we could not leave everything, but after a week without her, the everyday was unbearable to me. I remember one morning when I didn’t even have the energy to record my show. I called a friend who was acting as my marriage counselor and she was like, ‘If you’re that broke, call her.’ So I picked up my phone and I was so confused that I I quoted Nicoletta: ‘When you’re not there, the sun is dead.’Like what, love makes you stupid!’, confided “the man in black” to our colleagues at Gala.
In couple since 2009, the two stars have decided to take a new step in their life: to get married. They pass the ring on their finger on June 21, 2014 at the town hall of the 1st arrondissement of Paris. A date that was not chosen at random: “We wanted a symbolic date: it is the longest day of the year, the first of summer, and that of the Fête de la Musique. I just forgot that it was not smart to get married on the date when the wedding night will be the shortest!”, confided the man in black to Gala.
On June 21, 2019, the two lovebirds celebrated their wooden wedding anniversary and the least we can say is that Thierry Ardisson is full of praise when it comes to his wife. Invited to the RTL program We redid the TV last February, the host could not hide his admiration for the latter. “Because Audrey, in life, is someone very reserved, she is not expansive or exuberant. When she made her first television news, I was also terrified. I was at home and when I saw the credits of the 8 p.m. newspaper with marked Audrey Crespo-Mara, I was completely tracker. (…) And she arrived, very sure of herself, she surprised me all the same. And when she did the talk show on LCI, two hours live all the same, you have to do it, from the first seconds, she was there, immediately in place. (…) She really surprised me with the ease she had in hosting her show, which is doing well,” he said.
Before living their romantic idyll, the two stars each had children, born from their previous relationships. In total, the couple has five children between them. A big family that could grow one day? Nothing is less certain today: “We thought about it at the beginning, but we quickly changed our minds, we already have five children between us!”, affirmed Thierry Ardisson at Gala in 2014.
More recently, the host confided in his role as a father whose absences he recognizes: “I was not often there to see my children frolicking when they are 2 or 3 years old, it must be pleasant. I only joined them on weekends, exhausted, and I only saw them at noon on Sundays. That, I regret”, he explained to Current Values on July 4. “I don’t think you can be a star and have a normal life (…) I take care of them a lot today, I’m catching up!”, he finally confessed.
