That’s it, we finally know the dates of payment of the ARS. Its aim: to help the expenses of children attending school, aged 6 to 18, at the start of the school year. It will be paid next month: Wednesday August 16 to more than 5 million children and 3 million families, according to the Midi-Libre newspaper. In the departments of Mayotte and Réunion, it will be awarded from August 1st.

As a reminder, since April 1, 2023, several family allowances have seen their amount increase, including the ARS. While inflation jumped 5.9%, the ARS has just been increased by 1.5% on average, indicates TF1 Info, an increase of nearly 6 euros. The amount of this allowance is nevertheless subject to certain conditions: first of all the resources, the age of the child and finally the level of schooling of the child. The government website indicates that “the amount is €398.09 for children aged 6 to 10, €420.05 for children aged 11 to 14 and €434.61 for adolescents aged 15. at 18 years old.”

The family resource ceiling varies according to the number of dependent children on July 31, 2022: 25,775 euros for a household with one dependent child, to which must be added 5,948 euros per additional dependent child. But when the household slightly exceeds the ceiling, she then benefits from a back-to-school allowance at a reduced rate, decreasing according to her income. This financial aid is granted for each child enrolled in school aged 6 to 18, whether with a public or private educational institution. For families who are not yet recipients, they must apply to their CAF/MSA.
