(Paris) Two major regions of France have teamed up to bid to host the 2030 Winter Olympics.

The regions of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur announced on Tuesday that they wanted to submit a joint bid to the International Olympic Committee. The decision comes after they consulted the president of the French Olympic Committee.

The city of Paris will host the Summer Olympics next year. France has already hosted the Winter Games three times, in 1924, 1968 and 1992. The city of Annecy was not selected for the 2018 Winter Games.
