The first heat episode of July. The drop in temperatures that began at the start of the week will not last, since the thermometer will rise again this weekend, particularly on Sunday July 9, throughout the country. Some will even face an episode of strong heat, which could last until the beginning of next week. The Weather Channel explains that “the rise in temperatures is confirmed for this weekend and the first weekend of school holidays”. The heat will be almost generalized with “a risk of a possible heat wave” in three departments. You can find out which ones below our article.

According to Météo France forecasts for this weekend, temperatures will exceed 32°C in 35 departments on Sunday July 9, and will be just below in the others. In some parts of the territory, particularly in the north and west of the country, it is especially the day of Saturday July 8 that will be hotter than the others. The Weather Channel explains that “this period of heat is not exceptional at this time of the year”, but that the day of Saturday could be “the hottest since the beginning of the year”.

Rising temperatures are good news for vacationers starting their holidays this weekend, but they could cause you problems in the car. The specialized site also advises to “have your car’s air conditioning circuit serviced” if you take to the road. Also remember to stay hydrated throughout your journey, to take regular breaks and not to set the air conditioning to more than 26°C, according to government recommendations.
