Utopia, rapper Travis Scott’s fourth solo album, will finally be released this Friday, July 28.

The American from Houston was supposed to mark the outing with a full-scale concert at the foot of the pyramids in Giza, Egypt, the same day, but was forced to cancel it. A brief statement from entertainment giant Live Nation states that “despite extensive efforts, production issues prevent construction of the stage in the desert.”

Last week, Agence France-Presse reported that the Egyptian musicians’ union had banned the show because it violated respect for the “traditions of the Egyptian people.” International artists perform regularly at the site of the pyramids, but the union is said to be campaigning against African-American movements that claim affiliation with the Pharaohs, according to AFP.

In the last days, Travis Scott published on his social networks a series of the different covers of Utopia, the first single from the K-Pop album, in collaboration with The Weeknd and Bad Bunny, as well as the trailer for his film Circus Maximus, which will be screened in various theaters from Thursday 27 July.
