The Montreal Alouettes have signed 28-year-old American linebacker Darnell Sankey, who played in the CFL and NFL.

The six-foot-two, 250-pound football player played with the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders from 2020 to 2023. He was named to the West Division All-Star team in 2021, when he played in Alberta. That season, he had 98 tackles, one sack and forced a fumble in 14 games.

In 2022, he made 120 tackles, setting a team record in Saskatchewan, in addition to three sacks, two forced fumbles and two special teams tackles.

Sankey also played six games in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts in 2017.

The San Jose, California native also played in the XFL in 2023, winning the championship with the Arlington Renegades.

The Alouettes also added American defensive lineman T.D. Moultry.

Moultry, six-foot-two, 253 pounds, played his college football with the Auburn University Tigers and spent time in the Pittsburgh Steelers organization.

To make room for these newcomers, the Alouettes released linebacker Brody Buck and defensive back Parnell Motley.
