(San Jose) The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Filip Zadina to a one-year, $1.1 million contract, the organization’s general manager, Mike Grier, announced.

Zadina, 23, had three goals and four assists in 30 games last season with the Detroit Red Wings. He also scored one goal in two games with their American Hockey League academy, the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The Czech has 28 goals and 40 assists in 190 career NHL games, all with the Red Wings.

Zadina, a six-foot, 190-pound player, was selected in the first round, sixth overall, by the Red Wings in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
