Montreal producer and DJ TDJ (Terrain de Jeux) has already lived several lives on the music scene. Geneviève Ryan-Martel first became known under the pseudonym Ryan Playground and has carved out a good place for herself on the Montreal electro scene, but also internationally, thanks to quality atmospheric electronic pop. The artist continues his successful career with the TDJ project, which brings the sounds of the 1990s and 2000s up to date, mixing eurodance and trance, tones far from those we knew him, but which are also going to delight.

If you’re the type to follow TikTok trends, you’ve probably stumbled across Saint Levant’s song Very Few Friends. The Palestinian-Algerian-French-Serbian artist, Marwan Abdelhamid of his real name, was listened to millions of times when he published this piece online between rap and R

The voice can be reminiscent of Childish Gambino. Even the music sometimes, at least by its eclecticism. What JPEGMafia offers, however, is 10 times more explosive. New Yorker Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks, who now lives in Baltimore, is a singular rapper and producer, both in his language and in his choice of sounds. He explored and evolved on each of his albums, up to LP!, released in 2021, which is, to our ears, his best. However, his collaborative disc with Danny Brown, Scaring the Hoes, is considered superior to all his solos. The two complement each other perfectly and even seem to motivate each other to cross their creative limits. Four songs that were dropped from the album make up the newest DLC Pack…and they’re good!

Only 19 years old, redveil impresses with his artistic maturity. From Maryland, Marcus Morton is a rapper who also produces the majority of his beats. Released last year, Learn 2 Swim, her third album already, is full of soul and sincerity. The intelligence of the texts, the mastery of the flow, the search for samples: all of this is remarkable for such a young artist. He reminds us of Joey Bada$$ at the start of his career. This will also end the evening the day before. Playing w/Fire, the six-song microalbum that redveil released in April, didn’t appeal to us as much as Learn 2 Swim, but we hope to enjoy it more on show.

Let’s be honest: we didn’t know 070 Shake existed until we heard it on the excellent Daytona, by Pusha T, then on two tracks by Ye, by Kanye West. Danielle Balbuena is from New Jersey. The numerical part of its name is explained by its association with the collective 070, inspired by the postal code of the State. There are unsurprisingly hip-hop influences in Shake’s music, but his albums Modus Vivendi (2020) and You Can’t Kill Me (2022) are imbued with electro and alternative in a more refined pop sauce than the average. Recent collaborations with Christine and the Queens, Martin Garrix, RL Grime, Raye and Fred again – who will also be in Osheaga – have allowed him to obtain the greatest successes of his young career. Gossip lovers, Shake is a couple with actress Lily-Rose Depp, seen recently in the series The Idol.
