Forward Denis Gurianov will continue his career with the Nashville Predators. The 26-year-old Russian signed a one-year deal on Tuesday afternoon.

Gurianov, who had not received a qualifying offer from the Habs, became an unrestricted free agent on July 1. His deal with the Predators will net him $850,000, a significant drop in salary from the $2.9 million he pocketed last season.

This means that Gurianov will have played 23 games with the Canadiens, scoring 5 goals and 3 assists. Acquired from the Dallas Stars in return for Evgenii Dadonov at the end of February, the winger was unable to convince Kent Hughes to offer him a new contract.

Before joining the Canadiens, Gurianov had just 2 goals and 7 assists in 43 games with the Stars in the first half of the season.
