Canadian singer Nelly Furtado will host the next Junos ceremony.

Organizers of the event announced today that the singer of the hit I’m Like a Bird will host the gala celebrating Canadian music which will take place next year in Halifax.

This will be the second time that she will host the televised evening, after her appearance at the 2007 Junos in Saskatoon, where she won five awards, including album of the year and artist of the year.

The Victoria-born artist is returning to the spotlight after years of silence, notably with the launch of his song Keep Going Up, performed with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.
