Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appears to be a staunch secret admirer of Taylor Swift, after writing to the star on Twitter inviting her to come to Canada on his Eras tour.

Taylor Swift announced on Wednesday that she will be adding 14 more stops in Europe and the UK to her career-spanning concert series, with special guest Paramore.

As of now, there are no Canadian dates for her international tour which will take her to Mexico, Europe, Asia and Australia over the next year.

Mr. Trudeau responded to Ms. Swift’s post by paraphrasing lyrics from his own songs: “It’s me, hi. (It’s me, hi.) I know there are places in Canada that would like to welcome you. So don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon. »

Taylor Swift’s contempt for Canada made its way all the way to the House of Commons, with Tory MP Matt Jeneroux saying last month he would file an “official” grievance “on behalf of all Swifties” across the country.

Neither Taylor Swift nor her management have addressed the decision not to travel to Canada.
