(Hamilton) The Hamilton Tiger-Cats placed quarterback Matt Shiltz on the six-game injured list and signed quarterback Antonio Pipkin on Tuesday.

Shiltz, a former Montreal Alouettes, was injured in the Tiger-Cats’ 37-29 win over the Elks in Edmonton on Thursday night.

The 27-year-old Pipkin played 27 Canadian Football League games in five seasons with the Alouettes, Toronto Argonauts and BC Lions.

Pipkin completed 141 of 260 passes for 1,846 yards in the air and carried the ball 128 times for 586 yards. He threw six touchdown passes and added 21 on the ground.

Standing six-foot-one and weighing 225 pounds, the American appeared in four games last season with the Lions. He had 393 passing yards and two touchdown passes as well as 137 rushing yards and seven majors.
