(Kansas City) Travis Kelce is expected to be in action Thursday night when the Kansas City Chiefs face the Denver Broncos, despite injuring his ankle when he lost his footing on the artificial turf in a win over the Minnesota Vikings last weekend.

The Chiefs didn’t practice Monday, but Kelce was among the “absent” players, which likely would have happened if there had been a practice. He took part in simulations on Tuesday and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid mentioned that he will be on the field for a practice session – leading to speculation that he will be on the field Thursday night against the Broncos .

“He’s had some treatment and he’s feeling better, which is positive,” Reid said. I’m going to observe him, see how he moves, how he feels. He’s always been very honest with me on that level, so I’ll wait and see how he goes. »

Kelce injured his ankle late in the first half on Sunday, and we feared the worst for him for a while. Kelce threw his helmet to the ground in frustration on the sidelines, and then headed to the Chiefs locker room to undergo magnetic resonance imaging tests.

After receiving treatment and stretching on the sidelines, Kelce spoke with athletic therapists and returned to the field in the second half. He also made a few key plays that led to his team’s victory.
