Montreal urban artist Stikki Peaches found himself in the televised opener of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Canada on Sunday, on the British channel Sky Sports.

The artist, who grew up in Montreal watching Formula 1 races of the 1980s and 1990s, currently exhibits at Galerie LeRoyer in Old Montreal. His designs highlight iconic F1 drivers, ranging from Niki Lauda to Lewis Hamilton.

The exhibit celebrates the “art, speed and vibrant spirit” of the Montreal Grand Prix. Graffiti, stickers, posters, urban debris: his style is rooted in the spirit of reuse and recycling.
