(Anaheim) Fans who dreamed of seeing forward Trevor Zegras join Cole Caufield in the Montreal Canadiens uniform will obviously have to wait a few more seasons before seeing their fantasy come true.

The Anaheim Ducks agreed to a three-year contract extension with Zegras on Monday, the Californian team confirmed on its official X account.

According to several sources familiar with the agreement, it would bring him an annual average of 5.75 million US dollars.

Zegras, who became known to the Montreal public in particular for the “Michigan” feint he served to Bleu-blanc-rouge goaltender Samuel Montembeault during the Ducks’ visit to the Bell Center in January 2022, concluded the last campaign with 23 goals and 42 assists in 81 games.

The 22-year-old, who stands six feet tall and weighs 185 pounds, has 49 goals and 90 assists in 180 career NHL games. Zegras was the Ducks’ first pick, ninth overall, in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
