(Tbilisi) At just 16 years old, FC Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal on Friday became the youngest player to make his debut and score a goal for Spain in the Euro-2024 qualifier against Georgia , in Tbilisi.

Yamal came on as a 44th-minute substitute for RB Leipzig striker Dani Olmo in Spain’s 7-1 win in the Georgian capital.

The young Barça winger, aged 16 years and 57 days, has surpassed the record set by his club and national teammate Gavi, at 17 years and 62 days.

In the second period, Yamal even became the youngest Spanish player to score a goal with La Roja, with a curling left-footed shot (74th).

Sensation at the start of the season in La Liga, Lamine Yamal continues to break records for precocity: he had already become the youngest Barça player to debut in La Liga at 15 years and 9 months and the youngest to start, against Cadiz in august.
