(Laval) A Laval company has found a unique, albeit extreme, way to increase the well-being of its employees: offering them stays on a small private island.
The 30 workers of the SME IT services company “Mon Technicien” can now book a stay on the “island/chalet” that their employer has just purchased in Labelle, in the Laurentians.
The two-bedroom cottage can accommodate eight people on this small island which is 930 square meters in total. Employees will be able to enjoy a barbecue, a pedal boat, a canoe and other water sports equipment.
Mon Technicien president Sylvain Dion says his company jumped at the chance to buy the tiny island to expand its benefits package.
Employees will not pay for their stay, but this benefit is taxable.
Mr. Dion expects the prospect of stays on the private island to make his business more attractive to potential candidates.
