Canadian cross-country skiers concluded the Gällivare World Cup with a ninth place finish in the 4×7.5 km relay on Sunday in Sweden.

Antoine Cyr and Olivier Léveillé teamed up with Graham Ritchie and Xavier McKeever during this event won by the Norwegian team, led by Paal Golberg, gold medalist in the 10 km freestyle 24 hours earlier.

The Canadians completed the distance in 1:13:42.8 (1 minute, 52.3 seconds). They were fighting for a place on the podium for a good part of the race. They finally slipped in the standings with 10 kilometers to go.

It was the Swedes who took silver, finishing 17.4 seconds behind the Norwegians. The Germans finished third, 38.1 seconds behind the winners.

On Saturday, Antoine Cyr and Olivier Léveillé took 47th and 53rd places respectively in the 10 km freestyle. Also in this race, Léo Grandbois is ranked 63rd.

The next events are scheduled in a few days in Östersund, still in Sweden.
