(Owings Mills) Former NFL running back Alex Collins, who played five seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and Baltimore Ravens, is dead. He was 28 years old.

The Seahawks released a statement from the Collins family Monday night. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

Collins made 483 career carries, rushing for 1,997 yards for 18 touchdowns. He added a middle finger through the pass.

Previously, Collins had over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his three seasons with the University of Arkansas, from 2013-2015. He is second in program history in rushing yards, behind Darren McFadden.
