On April 14, 2023, the actor and director Dany Boon was the guest of Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine on the set of C à vous on the occasion of the promotion of his new film Life for real. On this occasion, the star of Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis made some confidences about his past and more particularly about his financial situation, even affirming that he had been “banned from banking”. “It was complicated, indeed. When I was at the Simon course, I was banned from banking. I was going [to the restaurant] with the friends from the Simon course […] and I said that I was not hungry “, he had told.

This is not the first time that the star actor of the French cinematographic landscape has tackled the sometimes taboo subject of money. In 2016, in the show Seven to eight and on the occasion of his film Radin!, Dany Boon had revealed that he was a “former poor”.

“I am a former poor. I think that when you have been poor for a long time, you remain so,” he said on the show and continued: “I took my half baguette or my baguette and I paid with full small pieces. So the baker sighed. But one day, I was missing 10 cents, so I searched all over me but there was nothing.”

It is thanks to his mother, a former cleaning lady, that Dany Boon was able to become an actor. “To go down to Paris, she gave me all her savings, that is 10,000 francs”.
