Fries, laughs and replicas that have become cults. In 2011, the French discovered Les Tuche at the cinema, the film written by Philippe Mechelen and directed by Olivier Barroux. At the heart of this family from Bouzolles, inspired by the show Strip-Tease, we discover atypical and crazy characters.

Long-term unemployed father Jeff Tuche (played by Jean-Paul Rouve) and his wife Cathy (Isabelle Nanty) live with their three children: daughter Stéphanie (Sarah Stern), amateur rapper son Wilfried (Pierre Lottin) and little nerd Donald (Théo Fernandez). Without forgetting Mamie Suze (Claire Nadeau) who accompany these merry thieves. Their daily life will radically change the day they win 100 million euros in the lottery and decide to go live in Monaco.

For the Tuche family, it is a dream life that awaits them when they settle on the Rock. A clash of cultures for their new neighbors and bursts of laughter for 1.5 million spectators in cinemas in France. An unexpected success for this schoolboy comedy which will give ideas to the director and accomplice of Kad Merad.

In 2016, Les Tuche lived The American Dream in the second installment of the saga. A comic adventure across the Atlantic which confirms their popularity with the French with more than 4.6 million admissions. Thus signing the biggest success of the year in cinema.

A year after the presidential election, Jeff Tuche and his clan arrive at the Élysée in the third installment released in 2018. If the press and the opinions were critical when the film was released, it attracted nearly 5.7 million admissions in France , and has more than 6 million admissions worldwide. And, for the first time, Olivier Barroux’s film won the César from the public in 2019.

In December 2021, the fourth Tuche film is released in the cinema in the midst of a health crisis. The Christmas comedy still brought together more than 2.4 million fans in dark rooms. What to consider the release of a fifth film after the incredible success of the previous episodes? “We found an idea that we like, which is crazy, completely crazy. We asked the whole team if the desire was there, we told the story to the actors, they said ok, let’s go! “, admitted the filmmaker Olivier Barroux on BFMTV before slipping an indiscretion. “We have set ourselves: shooting spring 2023, release February 2024”.

Before finding out more about the Tuche sequel, TMC is rebroadcasting the third film in the family saga this Wednesday, March 29, 2023. For the occasion, Planet is back in pictures on the memorable scenes that marked the famous comedy.
