President Joe Biden declared Saturday the Champ, the elderly of their family’s two dogs, had died”peacefully in the home.”

“He had been our continuous, cherished companion throughout the previous 13 decades and was loved by the total Biden household,” Biden and first woman Jill Biden stated in a statement submitted to the president’s official Twitter account.

The Bidens obtained Champ out of a breeder afterwards Biden has been chosen vice president in 2008. Champ was a fixture in the president’s house at the Naval Observatory and the White House. In their announcement, the Bidens stated that when Champ was young,”that he had been chasing golf balls around the front yard of the Naval Observatory,” and more recently he appreciated”linking us as a reassuring presence in encounters or sunning himself at the White House garden”

“In our happiest moments and at our grief-stricken days, he had been there with ussensitive to our unspoken emotion and feeling,” that the Bidens said.

The Bidens could sometimes be seen walking their dogs around the White House South Lawn, along with the dogs occasionally would combine the president trips to Camp David or visits residence in Delaware.

Major has attracted headlines due to his poor behaviour previously.
