(Saint-Girons) Canadian Michael Woods won the Route d’Occitanie for the second consecutive year on Sunday.

The 36-year-old rider from Ottawa moved into first place on Saturday, winning the penultimate stage.

Woods finished 18th on Sunday to finish top of the overall standings, 10 seconds ahead of Spaniard Cristián Rodríguez.

Third place went to German Georg Steinhauser.

Britain’s Simon Carr won the final stage, a 64.7km journey that started in Saint-Gaudens.

“It’s really special to win this race a second time,” said Woods. It is a region that I really like, not far from my home, in Andorra.

“Having my family and kids here to see me win on Father’s Day is really special. »

Victor Lafay was the best Frenchman, finishing seventh overall.

Quebecer Guillaume Boivin finished 60th.
