(Toronto) Jamal Peters is back in the Queen City.

The Toronto Argonauts announced Monday that they have offered a contract to Peters, who was named to the 2022 CFL All-Star Team. The team did not disclose terms of the contract.

He joins the Gray Cup champions after being released by the Atlanta Falcons last week. He had signed a contract with the NFL club in January.

The 26-year-old Peters was one of the best defensive players in pass coverage last season. He led the Ambrosie circuit with six interceptions and had 57 tackles and a sack in 15 games.

The six-foot-two, 220-pound footballer also led the league with 137 interception returns, including one for a touchdown.

Peters will be in his third season in the CFL. He joined the Argos in 2021 and had 32 tackles and one interception in his first season.
