Dorothée: what does the cult host of the 90s look like today?

A popular face of the PAF across the generations. From her real name Frédérique Hoschedé, Dorothée was the host of several shows that rocked our youth (or that of your children). Among them, we think in particular of Récré A2 (from 1978 to 1987 on Antenne 2) and especially Le Club Dorothée (from 1987 to 1997).

With her group of friends (Ariane Carletti, Corbier, Jacky and the Muscles), Dorothée has established herself with young audiences with music by publishing several albums. We all hummed one of his hits: Allô, allô, mister computer, Earthquake or even Chagrin d’amour. Several years later, the famous artist is far from being forgotten by her fans.

With Télé 7 Jours, Dorothée tells us. “Not a day goes by that I don’t get told about Club Dorothée or stopped in the street to say ‘Thank you!’ It’s been going on for years and it still touches me just as much.” Since stopping her broadcasts, the host has been more discreet in the media around the 2000s.

“It’s because I react to the heart and I rarely have it, but I never close the door to the proposals that can be made to me”, she admits to our colleagues. After having evolved on the small screen between youth programs and documentaries on the Club Do years, the famous Dorothée has also distinguished herself in the cinema.

In 2018, Dorothée made an appearance in the film Nicky Larson et le Parfum de Cupidon directed by Philippe Lacheau. Five years later, the one who will celebrate her 70th birthday this year returns to the cinema in the American blockbuster Transformers Rise of the Beasts, where she lends her voice to the character of Airazor (dubbed by Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh in her original version). “I couldn’t refuse to try to be part of this crazy adventure,” the actress told the magazine.

Before the release of the film on June 7, 2023 at the cinema in France, Dorothée was present at the preview at the Grand Rex in Paris. Back in pictures on the career of the ex-host and actress (dubbing) in our slideshow.
