Even as Christmas approaches, reminders don’t take a holiday. This time, all kinds of spices and herbs are affected by such a procedure. These products were on sale throughout France and should no longer be consumed.

In total, fourteen spices from the Sainte Lucie and Marius brands are affected by this major recall: mulled wine mix, poultry mix, sea curry, Indian curry, colombo, four spices, red curry, curry Balti, Chinese mix, ground ginger, mix for guacamole, mix for gingerbread and mix for fish. These spices are sold in many distributors that you can discover in the slideshow below.

Indeed, they could prove to be dangerous due to the presence of Bacillus cereus in one of the raw materials. This bacterium can cause food poisoning which can lead to diarrhea, often accompanied by abdominal pain, nausea and sometimes fever within 8 to 16 hours after ingestion. These infections often heal on their own within 12 to 24 hours.

Fragile and immunocompromised people should be particularly attentive to this recall procedure, as the symptoms could be aggravated. “These infections are relatively infrequent, with around 5 cases per million inhabitants per year in France, and very generally benign”, however, wishes to reassure the site of the Ministry of Agriculture.
