A sudden disappearance that still raises many questions. On the evening of October 18, the writer Jean Teulé, companion of the actress Miou-Miou, died at the age of 69. “Betty Mialet and Bernard Barrault have the immense sadness to have to confirm that their author Jean Teulé would have succumbed last night, October 18, to a cardiac arrest”, had revealed the Mialet-Barrault editions via a press release.

The author of the book Agincourt in rainy weather would have been the victim of food poisoning last weekend, as a police source told our colleagues from Paris. An investigation has been opened by the Paris prosecutor’s office to determine the causes of his death.

On Twitter, M6 journalist François Vignolle made new revelations about the circumstances, explaining: “The track of food poisoning studied. The state of health of Miou-Miou’s companion deteriorated after eating meatballs last Saturday, according to those around him”, he wrote and added: “ActuParis indicates that Jean Teulé would have gone to a restaurant on Saturday. According to our information, Jean Teulé was admitted to the Lariboisière hospital before being able to return to his home”.

In the latest issue of Paris Match magazine, our colleagues made revelations about the last moments of the writer. The latter would have died “in the arms of Miou-Miou” who would have barely had time to warn the emergency services. “Angèle and Jeanne take turns at their mother’s bedside to try to make her admit the unacceptable”, write our colleagues. “Miou is totally upset. Angèle and Jeanne support her in this ordeal which affects us all”, would have said then a close family member.

Following the announcement of his disappearance, several political personalities paid tribute to him, including the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron who hailed “a writer who is triple gifted for comics, television and literature, who bequeaths us stories full of fantasy and lucidity”, can we read in a press release. The Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul Malak, had declared: “We feel with great sadness the too early end of the story of an unclassifiable dreamer, designer and poet who wanted to share with everyone, Rimbaud, Villon and Baudelaire”.
