Beauty pageant season is in full swing. This Tuesday, October 11, the Miss France committee revealed the name of the ambassador who will defend our colors during the 71st Miss Universe election, on January 14, 2023 in New Orleans in the United States. And, surprise, Diane Leyre, does not appear in the international competition.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to participate in the Miss Universe contest due to lack of time and preparation a few weeks before my Miss France title presentation, next December. I do not like to do things by halves when it comes to represent France internationally”, reacted Miss France 2022 in an official press release relayed on the Instagram page of the national committee.

It is her first runner-up, the Martiniquaise Floriane Bascou who will succeed Clémence Botino, elected Miss France 2020, at the Miss Universe 2022 competition. After a good ranking in the top 10 last year, the Guadeloupean was chosen to represent the ‘Hexagon for the next Miss World election. A great opportunity for the two women from overseas to shine on the international scene.

“For several years our national representatives have succeeded in demonstrating that France is one of the countries most represented in the finalists of international competitions”, rejoiced Cindy Fabre, Miss France 2005 and director of the competition, before greeting the two candidates. . “They will be able to perfectly embody the values ​​of the Miss France competition internationally. We wish them to fully experience this adventure and we will support them throughout their journey”.

Followed by nearly 43,000 subscribers on Instagram, the younger sister of athlete Dimitri Bascou showed her joy in living this adventure. “Let’s go! Our new story begins now!”, before continuing. “I thank the Miss France organization for placing their trust in me in order to achieve my ultimate goal and make you proud.
