Princess Lady Diana has been gone for 25 years. On August 31, 1997, she was seen in Paris with her companion at the time, Dodi Al-Fayed, when a terrible tragedy occurred. As they tried to flee from the photographers in pursuit, the car driven by their driver Henri Paul engulfed under the Alma bridge before the three individuals disappeared in this terrible road accident.

A tragedy for the UK and the whole world, as the 37-year-old princess left behind her two children William and Harry. “She was our mother. She is still our mother. Of course, as a son, I would say that she was the best mother in the world. She was filled with love”, confided the husband of Meghan, in the report Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, broadcast by HBO in 2017. “It’s the first time we’ve talked about her as a mother”, according to comments relayed by ELLE. Before Prince Charles’ eldest son adds. “She was very simple and really liked to laugh and have fun.”

Very close to her two boys, Lady Diana often attracted the attention of the media on each of her trips. In the mid-1980s, the Brit wanted to be independent by owning her own vehicle: a Ford Escort RS Turbo Series 1, a unique car model in black, registration C462 FHK, which is now auctioned by Silverstone Auctions .

“The Princess of Wales much preferred to be driving her own car, but with a detective in the passenger seat, a member of Royalty Protection Command SO14,” the website tells us, in the description of the property. The famous Princess of Wales drove her sedan for personal trips, from August 23, 1985 to May 1, 1988. “City dweller at heart”, Lady Di liked “to go to the shops or meet girlfriends for lunch”, adds the auction site.

She was seen in particular on board her vehicle, with her eldest son and future heir to the throne, Prince William, seated in the back, as shown by Paris Match. 25 years after her death, Lady Diana has never left the hearts of her subjects who will be able to acquire a mythical object of her life. While the sale of this property will take place on Saturday August 27 at 10:30 am on the site, discover what the famous car looks like in our slideshow.
