Linky meter: the 7 reasons that lead some to refuse it

spot_img

It is an understatement to say that the Linky counter does not arouse enthusiasm. If the small green box of Enedis has finally been able to settle on almost all of the territory, it is clear that a significant number of French men and women still reject this new device en bloc. They invoke, as the anti-Linky activist Stéphane Lhomme explained in our columns, the theoretical absence of obligation and advocate various solutions so as not to have to equip themselves. “The European directives do not mention any obligation that would be incumbent on the inhabitants. They do not stipulate that Linky is compulsory, on the contrary. However, it is much simpler, to be able to install the meter at all French, to tell them that this is the case”, indeed assured the activist in May 2021.

But what do the anti-Linky criticize the smart meter, exactly?

From one anti-Linky to another, the reasons for the rejection of the counter can obviously vary. In some cases, they point to the reliability problems of the device, known to break down due to insects. In others, they mention different reasons, relating to ecology for example, or to bills. More information about this in our slideshow, which you will find at the end of this article.

The openly anti-Linky site “Anti-Linky Operational Platform” puts forward a series of reasons aimed at justifying the position against the meter. Some, however, are the subject of responses and denials from Enedis, so it is necessary to inquire before deciding.

Moreover, it is important to remember that a financial penalty could await non-equipped users from 2025. Only those whose non-installation follows a technical impossibility will not be concerned, informs Dossier Familial on its site.
