If you pay attention to product recalls, you have surely noticed that cheese tops the list of foods often recalled in stores.

Animal bacteria, such as Listeria or Salmonella, are indeed more likely to contaminate these foods, especially soft cheeses. It is therefore necessary to be extra vigilant when you buy these products, and above all, avoid having them consumed by young children or fragile people who are less resistant to poisoning.

“In general, the health authorities point out that as a precaution raw milk and cheeses made from raw milk should not be consumed by young children and particularly those under 5 years of age; it is necessary to prefer cooked pressed cheeses (such as Emmental, Comté, etc.), spreadable processed cheeses and cheeses made from pasteurized milk. The same recommendation should be followed for pregnant women, immunocompromised people and the elderly.

Since Monday, June 6, 2022, six new products have been subject to a recall procedure. These are raw milk cheeses sold by a local producer in Indre.

The points of sale concerned:

The potentially contaminated products were sold from May 7 to 26, 2022. In our slideshow, discover the 6 cheeses affected by this recall.

If you own one of these products, be careful! Above all, do not consume it. It could indeed contain Escheria coli, a dangerous bacterium that can cause serious complications.

Symptoms of poisoning usually appear within a week of consumption. They are generally the following:

They can lead to serious complications, especially in children. If in doubt, consult a doctor as soon as possible.

However, if you don’t experience any of these symptoms for up to 10 days after ingesting the cheese, you don’t have to worry.

And if you still have the product in your refrigerator, bring it back to the point of sale concerned without delay.
